List of Accomplishments
We have an annual championship tournament and crown champions for each participating school and one overall Taylor County System Champion. The 2014 System Champion and High School champion is Marshall Smith. The Middle School Champion is Carter Albritton and Elementary School Champion is Alex Martinez. In the final round Marshall Smith defeated last year's System Champion, Carter Albritton, in a hard fought hour-long game.
In 2013 the Chess Club has traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for the Super Nationals. We plan to attend the K-9 National Championships in April of 2014.
He has been a chess master over 30 years and won many titles and tournament. He has played professionally in the New York area for many years. The highlights of his career was a match with the world chess champion for a national team title. He taught many students in person and online. Students have won 5 national championships, including Champion of all State High School Champions and Champion of all State Champions.
